Currently 1500 students from throughout the Colleges of Science and Engineering, as well as from many other departments in the University, take a year of Freshman Physics as part of their academic program. The renovated Physics teaching labs are designed to provide a safe and effective environment for these students to conduct experiments in mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, electricity and magnetism.
The Physics stockroom will provide storage space for some of the student equipment, and will also serve as an electronics and machine shop area to support construction and repair of specialized apparatus.
