How To Access The Department File Share

  1. Apple key + K
  2. Type the path below where <dept> is one of the departments: (bio, chm, cs, gsc, mat, phy):
    "smb://sci-files.win.csupomona.edu/<dept>/"
  3. Click Connect.

For Example, the biology department file share is at:

smb://sci-files.win.csupomona.edu/bio/

Mounting A Share Point

The authentication window should already display "WIN" under the "Workgroup or Domain" field. If not, enter "WIN" and your Cal Poly e-mail username and password. Then click "OK."

Macintosh Authentication

From here, all four folders within the <dept> folder can be seen.

How To Access The Faculty Personal File Share

Personal file folders may be accessed by navigating through the folders in the department. The faculty personal file storage is found under the department folder named "fac" and is named after the user's Cal Poly Email address.

<dept>/fac/<username>
(Where <dept> is one of the departments: bio, chm, cs, gsc, mat, or phy)

For Example, the Biology professor John Henry Doe opens
bio/fac/jhdoe

How To Access The Staff Personal File Share

Personal file folders may be accessed by navigating through the folders in the department. The staff personal file storage is found under the department folder named "staff" and is named after the user's Cal Poly Email address.

<dept>/staff/<username>
(Where <dept> is one of the departments: bio, chm, cs, gsc, mat, or phy)

Mac users may elect to save authentication settings to their keychain.
