Ruth, an administrative support assistant in the Biological Sciences department, is commended for her organizational skills and her exceptional ability to interact well with faculty, staff, and students. She is well-versed in both curriculum requirements and student advising and her high level of efficiency stems from her ability to prioritize and organize. Ruth coordinates student assistants, student files and records, and assists faculty in gathering information for advising. She also contributes her time and knowledge to events such as Fall Conference and the annual Biology Career Convention. In addition to maintaining records, Ruth also provides statistics and grade reports for internship contracts and supervisory courses.
“Ruth continuously provides support and assistance to the students who enter the Biological Sciences office seeking her wisdom,” said Biological Sciences student Michelle Murphy. “She is a vital guide to the sometimes confusing path we tread to earn our degrees.”
In addition to her grace under pressure, Ruth is considered to be an important team member in the College of Science. She enthusiastically solicits donations of books, microscopes, and computers to be used by students at Garey High School.
